"Old Guy Scott" uses a sharp pick to discover any weak spots. First he cuts the new metal larger than the bad area and uses it as a template to cut the exact size. Using a butt weld technique, he mig welds the new metal in place. After the lead work and primer you have a perfect and permanent repair. The photos show the process very well.
