"OLD GUY SCOTTS" TRIBUTE CAR : Update 35 Ignition Wiring Click on photo to enlarge it. Pictures #329 thru #339 "Old Guy Scott's" uses silver plated copper core wire as they did in all racing engines of that time, (he still does it this way). First he will tin both pieces, photos #339 & 330. Next he uses dielectric grease to install the boot, photos#331 thru #334. Then he solders the two tinned pieces together in photo #335. In photo #337 "Old Guy Scott" uses a hammer handle to enlarge the heat shield in order to fit over the boot and plug. In photos #338 you can see how the wires will lay away from the manifold. Photo #339 shows a clamp installed to a pan stud, this keeps the front two wires clear of the manifold header pipe. "Old Guy Scott" says when plug wires are laid out this way, they won't overheat and make plug access very easy.
